The Georgia Bulldogs may be about to lose one of their most important commitments.

The Georgia Bulldogs have begun to lay the groundwork on a 2028 recruiting class which could shape up to be one of the best in the country. But as is the name of the game in the talent acquisition, they will have to hold onto commitments they have already secured.

Especially in today's day and age of college football, a player deciding he is going to commit to a school nearly two years before signing day just means that school is in the driver's seat. Unfortunately for the Dawgs, that may be proving to be the case with their most significant pledge for 2028 so far.

According to a report this week from Steve Wiltfong of Rivals, No. 1 quarterback Jayden Wade is going to be taking a visit to Michigan this weekend after the Wolverines have been pushing to get him on campus for months now.

Wade Taking Visit to Michigan This Weekend Amid Flip Rumors

Despite affirming over and over that he is committed to the Dawgs and cannot wait to get to Athens and get to work, Wade is understandably assessing his options and hearing what other programs have to say.

"Just seeing what’s going on,” Wade’s advisor Mike Evans said of the visit to Rivals. "They’re interested. Georgia has a bye week. It’s not like we can go there...Michigan has a good program. The last quarterback was an IMG guy. It’s worth going to go see."

Evans affirmed that Wade is locked in with Georgia, but players take visits all the time even when they say that. It does not mean a flip is imminent or even coming at any point, but it certainly would be the preference of the Dawgs that Wade not take additional visits to other schools who have been known to make big money offers.

Until otherwise reported, Wade is not in danger of flipping to Michigan or anyone else, but this news will certainly have fans a little bit worried. Wade is the top signal caller in the nation for a reason, and the IMG prospect has been a key part of recruiting other future Bulldogs as well.

Kirby Smart and this staff had better decide how badly they want to keep Wade in this class, and if the answer is very badly, then they could have to make an offer to keep him. Regardless of the outcome, this will be watched very closely over the coming weeks as the Dawgs try to hold onto their quarterback of the future.
