The Georgia Bulldogs are likely going to be playing as scheduled.

The Georgia Bulldogs are about to play their biggest game of the season against the Alabama Crimson Tide, and all week long, the reports have surrounded possible hurricane and tropical storm like conditions in Tuscaloosa.

As the week has gone on though, the reports have become more encouraging about the possibility that the game itself will not be impacted. The storm could very well still be very serious, but it's moving at rapid enough a rate that if Tuscaloosa is impacted, it should be well north by the time kickoff is set to happen.

College GameDay has already been moved from outside to in the Alabama basketball arena, and while the tailgating situation appears to still be up in the air, it looks a whole lot more positive on Friday than it did at the start of the week. Now, there still very well could be rain during the game as well as the potential impact of wind issues being felt on the field, but as for the chances of the game being played on time and more importantly being played safely, things are looking solid.

Given the fact that this may be the biggest game of the season on the college football calendar, nobody wanted to see it derailed by potential weather issues, but folks are always going to act out of an abundance of caution when it comes to fan and player safety.

As it turns out, things look like they may not present safety concerns in the stadium during the game, so while things still have to play out, hopes are high that the game and surrounding festivities will be able to go off without a hitch.

If things do indeed play out that way, this will be a matchup of two very good teams who may be the two best in the conference as well as some of the best in the entire country. Alabama and Georgia is a huge game every time these two storied programs get together, and that is certainly the case in Tuscaloosa on Saturday night.

Nobody wanted this thing drastically changed and impacted by the weather, and it does seem like, at least for now, that this will probably be avoided. For the fans in attendance and players on the field, that is the best news they could possibly hear.

All that's left to do now is play ball and let the better team win.
