These were the highest-graded standouts from the LSU Tigers' win over the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs on Saturday night.
After coming out flat, the LSU Tigers were able to answer the call in the second half to pull away from the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs on Saturday night.
The Tigers' defense was dominant throughout, with a lot of the same standouts from last week making an impact once again. The offense was less celebrated, though, with four first-half turnovers.
It should be no surprise that this week, all four of the highest-graded LSU players from the win were on the defense, per Pro Football Focus' 0 to 100 scale. Here were the stars with the best marks:
LB TJ Dottery - 95.1
Dottery has been a massive upgrade to what was already an elite linebacker room. Offenses needing to account for both him and Whit Weeks would be a headache, but the Tigers also have talent all over the field to free up their playmakers to do just that.
The linebacker forced two fumbles in this game, generated two pressures and had nine total tackles. Dottery now has a 94.8 grade for the season after also performing well in the season opener. He holds the team lead with 14 tackles.
DT Deuce Geralds - 92.3
Geralds was one of the biggest winners from fall camp, but had a slower start to his career with a 54.3 grade thanks in large part to a missed tackle. He missed no tackles in this game, as it felt like he made his presence known on each drive. He finished with four total pressures, picking up his first sack and a forced fumble later in the game.
The true freshman has been the early breakout star of his signing class. He has an absurd level of athleticism and uses his smaller frame to his advantage to get into the backfield. This is going to be a fun career to watch.
S Tamarcus Cooley - 87.4
Cooley is one of the more underrated defensive backs in the country. Those who pay attention know that he has been stellar dating back to last year, but there are bigger stars taking away some of the attention. He was targeted three times in this game, allowing just one catch for four yards. That brings quarterbacks to 2-for-5 for five yards when targeting him this year. He has yet to miss a tackle, as well. There is not much more Blake Baker could be asking for from him.
Other standouts:
QB Landen Clark: 86.9
LB Kolaj Cobbins: 84.1
LB Whit Weeks: 82.6
QB Sam Leavitt: 81.6
