With just three days until kickoff for the LSU Tigers, it's time to highlight the next player to don that jersey number in Baton Rouge.

The LSU Tigers football season is inching closer, now down to double digits on the countdown clock. Kickoff against the Clemson Tigers is now just four days away.

As we continue to look back at the history of the Bayou Bandits to celebrate and prepare heading into the first game, there is also the matter of getting to know the current-day players.

Here is a look at the past and present of No. 3 at LSU:

No. 3 - WR Eugene 'Tre' Wilson

It would have been tragic for Wilson to come to Baton Rouge and wear any other number than the one he wore for the Florida Gators, given that it is in his name. It also fits for a flashy playmaking wide receiver.

Wilson has been a star since high school out of Tampa, Fla. He was a track star as well and has brought that to his game on the field. He is a speedy, shifty receiver who is going to look to do damage with the ball in his hands after the catch.

The 5-foot-11, 184-pound weapon performed quickly as a freshman, with 61 catches for 538 yards and six touchdowns. He failed to reach either of those marks over his next two seasons combined due to injury, however.

The Tigers brought in a lot of talent at wide receiver, so Wilson had to fight tooth and nail for his role this season. He's a versatile piece who can be moved around the offense however they see fit.

LSU will make sure he gets the ball in his hands no matter what, as he will contribute as a returner, which he did not do with the Gators. It has been said every year, but it feels like this could really be the breakout.

A Former Player Who Wore No. 3

WR Odell Beckham Jr. (2011-2013)

Another very fun wide receiver, Beckham became one of the biggest modern stars in football history due to his time with the New York Giants. Before he was making one-handed grabs for them, he was doing so in Baton Rouge. He and Jarvis Landry were an amazing duo that would have won something had they had a better offense around them.

Over three years in college, Beckham put up 143 catches for 2,340 yards and 12 touchdowns. He is also one of the best returners in school history, reaching over 4,000 All-Purpose yards with two punt return touchdowns.

After looking like he was going to retire from the NFL, not playing last season, he made a return to the Giants this offseason and just recently made the team. Now it's time for his 11th season in the league, adding to a great career.
