It’s been a busy offseason for the Tigers, and they aren’t slowing down any time soon. With the transfer portal and spring practice behind them, Charles Huff and his staff have turned their attention to the class of 2027.

During his introductory press conference, Huff spoke at length about being big and athletic on the defensive side of the ball, and that includes the edge rushers. Memphis’ staff has offered a handful of edge rushers already, and here’s a look at seven more players at that position with offers from the Tigers.

Bryson Phoenix (Alexandria, LA)

Phoenix picked up an offer from Memphis in January, and he now has 21 offers, including five from Power Four programs. The three-star prospect recorded 72 tackles, 14 tackles for loss and 7.5 sacks for Alexandria last year.

Phoenix has set up three official visits, and it’s unclear if the Tigers are in a position to land a visit.

Dominic Letlow (Youngstown, OH)

Memphis offered Letlow in March, and the edge currently holds offers from 25 programs. The three-star recruit has set up five official visits, and it looks like the Tigers are a long shot to land the Youngstown native.

Brian Demoss (Chicago, IL)

Demoss is a three-star prospect out of Chicago, and the Tigers offered him in late January. Demoss took an unofficial visit to Memphis on April 15, and it will be interesting to see if the Tigers land an official visit.

The edge rusher hasn’t set up any official visits, but he currently has 25 offers.

JiQuan Rogers (Birmingham, AL)

Memphis offered Rogers earlier this month, which was one of the five offers he’s received in May, including a pair from Power Four programs. Rogers, a three-star recruit, has three official visits scheduled with Clemson, Colorado and Vanderbilt.

The Birmingham, AL, native stands 6-foot-3 and weighs 225 pounds, and he has recorded more than 30 sacks over the last three seasons.

Jeron Allen II (Cedar Hill, TX)

Allen holds 24 offers, and he picked up an offer from the Tigers in early April. The three-star recruit is ranked one of the top 10 edge rushers in the state of Texas by RallyPreps, and he has four official visits set.

The edge has already visited Kansas, and he will visit Mississippi State, Wisconsin and Kansas State over the next month.

Drew Sapp (Lakeland, FL)

The former staff offered Sapp last year, and he was in Memphis for the game against USF last season. While the staff has changed, Huff’s staff gave the edge his fifth offer last May.

It’s unclear if Huff’s staff is still recruiting Sapp.

Olayiwola Taiwo (Hampton, GA)

Memphis offered Taiwo in April, and he has 34 total offers. The three-star edge rusher has already set up four official visits with Iowa State, Kansas, FAU and Tulane, and it’s unclear if the Tigers will be able to land a visit with him.
