In less than 60 days, Memphis will start its season against UNLV in Week Zero. Charles Huff will coach his first game for the Tigers with a new coaching staff and roster.

Memphis brought in more than 70 new players and saw most of last season’s roster enter the transfer portal.

With the season quickly approaching, it’s a good time to look at where some of the former Tigers landed out of the transfer portal. After looking at the offensive players who went with Ryan Silverfield to Arkansas, here’s a look at five more offensive players who have found a new home.

TE Christian Ross (Miami OH)

Christian Ross spent two years with Memphis, but he redshirted his first season. In 2025, he appeared in 13 games and recorded 174 yards and a touchdown on 17 receptions.

After two years, he entered the transfer portal and landed at Miami (OH).

RB Makari Bodiford (Kansas State)

Makari Bodiford signed with the Tigers as a three-star recruit, and he spent the last two seasons in Memphis.

As a freshman, he ran for 106 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries in seven games. In 2025, he recorded only 64 yards, but he found the end zone three times on 22 carries.

He entered the transfer portal after the season and will play in the Big 12 this year for Kansas State.

OT Parker Peterson (Furman)

Parker Peterson signed with Memphis as a three-star recruit, but he didn’t see much playing time in three seasons. He redshirted during the 2023 season, and he didn’t appear in any games in 2024.

He played against Tulsa and NC State in 2025, but he only played six snaps. He will play at Furman next season.

IOL Ethan Newman (Nevada)

Ethan Newman transferred to Memphis ahead of the season after spending two years at Kennesaw State. He played in eight games with the Tigers, starting against Navy and in the bowl game against NC State.

He didn’t allow a sack and gave up only two pressures during the season. The offensive guard, who stands 6-foot-3 and 300 pounds, will play his redshirt junior season at Nevada.

TE Bryce Anderson (UL Monroe)

Bryce Anderson joined the Tigers’ program in 2025 after spending 2024 at Iowa Central Community College. During his sophomore season in Memphis, he appeared in 13 games, making two starts, and recorded 101 yards on 12 receptions.

After the season, he entered the transfer portal and will play at UL Monroe next year.
