Northwestern is hoping to hang around today against No. 4 Oregon, a team coming off a 69-3 victory against Oklahoma State last week. The 'Cats, meanwhile, posted a dominant win of their own against Western Illinois, benefiting from a bounce-back performance from transfer quarterback Preston Stone after a brutal loss to Tulane in week one.

The last time Northwestern played against FBS competition, the Green Wave dominated in New Orleans en route to a 23-3 trouncing of the 'Cats. Stone threw four interceptions in that game and accounted for five turnovers.

It's hard to imagine what it would take for NU to come up with a win today, but Stone will look to continue to prove himself and keep the 'Cats competitive on a windy, dreary day on the lakeside.

    The Game

    No. 4 Oregon Ducks (2-0) @ Northwestern Wildcats (1-1)

Location: Northwestern Medicine Field at Martin Stadium | Evanston, IL

    Kickoff: Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. CT

    The Opponent

Head coach Dan Lanning leads Oregon into battle in what has been a banner season so far, granted it's only been two games. Right now, the Ducks have outscored their opponents by a whopping 128-16 margin. Again, it's been two games.

Dante Moore is Oregon's starting quarterback, and he's already racked up almost 500 yards passing and six touchdowns. The Ducks are deep with weapons -- they already have seven receivers over the 40-yard mark and a whole host of running backs getting carries.

While Oregon has been dominant, this is their first road contest of the season, and it's coming in unfamiliar territory on a unique field with unique conditions. That's the challenge Lanning and his team have to overcome today, and if they do, it will be incredibly difficult for the 'Cats to pull off the upset.

    The Broadcast

Northwestern is playing host to Big Noon Kickoff this weekend, so the game will be televised on Fox. Gus Johnson will cover play-by-play duties with Joel Klatt as the analyst. Jenny Taft will be on the sidelines.

The radio broadcast is with WGN 720. Dave Eanet will do play-by-play on the radio with analyst Ted Albrecht and sideline reporter Jake Saunders, who was a defensive lineman with Northwestern from 2016-2020.

    The Line

Oregon is a 26.5 point favorite against the Wildcats, per ESPN BET. The over/under is 49.5. The line moved two points down from 28.5 this morning.
