Northwestern is now 5-5 amid a three-game skid, and just two weeks remain for David Braun's team to clinch bowl eligibility. The Wildcats had a win over Michigan in their clutches on Saturday, making a 12-point comeback in the fourth quarter and forcing five turnovers, but NU's offense couldn't move the chains with the lead to put the game away.
The 'Cats will play their final home game at Wrigley Field on Saturday, still searching for their first victory at The Friendly Confines. Since 2010, Northwestern is 0-6 at Wrigley, with last weekend's two-point loss coming as the program's closest defeat. Northwestern is favored by 3.5 points against Minnesota, despite the Golden Gophers holding a 6-4 (4-3 Big Ten) record.
These two programs last matched up in 2023, when Northwestern quarterback Ben Bryant led a 21-point comeback in the fourth quarter to win in overtime, 37-34. The Wildcats eventually went 8-5 and won the Las Vegas Bowl during that season, Braun's first as a head coach.
