We are still over one month from the Big Ten Championship Game, and yet, the highly-anticipated matchup it is seemingly the game that everyone wants to see.
As it stands right now, the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Indiana Hoosiers are on a crash course to meet in Indianapolis.
The two teams stand head, shoulders, and torso above the rest of the conference. Head coach Ryan Day and his squad are every bit the team that they were last year, while the Hoosiers are destroying teams and showing no mercy in the process.

The Ohio State Buckeyes put out a special performance on Saturday afternoon against the Penn State Nittany Lions and we start there - so much to unpack from ...
If the two powerhouse programs meet in the Big Ten Championship Game, it will be the most competitive game in the conference this year, as it would feature the No. 1 and No. 2 teams in the country.
There is a lot to be excited about. So much so that FanDuel Sportsbook has already posted the game.
With the well-known sportsbook typically set the pace on business such as this game, the line officially opened with Ohio State being 3.5-point favorites over Indiana, with the Over/Under set at 49.5.
The 3.5 on a neutral site means that Vegas most likely sees the Buckeyes as a 6.5-point favorites in Columbus, and the game would be a pick 'em if it were played in Bloomington due to home-field advantage typically accounting for three points on the spread.
FanDuel didn't have to go too far out on a limb for these lines because these two teams certainly look the part. However, they are still teams that are made up of kids, and ultimately, you never know who or what will show up on any given Saturday.
Not only would this game be the most anticipated for the play of the field, but the storylines would be abundant with quarterbacks Julian Sayin and Fernando Mendoza competing for the Heisman Trophy.
Barring injury, both quarterbacks are the front-runners to hoist the prestigious award in late December, and this hypothetical game could determine the winner.
Outside of a great appetizer for the Playoff, this game actually might mean nothing in terms of the seeding.
If it does happen, that would mean that both teams would be undefeated, and they would be the two best groups in the country. Depending on a close final score, there is a very good chance that the loser wouldn't drop out of the No. 2 spot and would still have the second easiest trip to the finals.
The winner, obviously, would sit atop the mountain in the final College Football Playoff ranking.
Regardless, it feels a little early to take action on a game that isn't happening for a full month but, what do I know?
