The Ohio State Buckeyes got a strong message from one Texas superfan heading into their showdown.
All eyes will be on Austin this weekend as the Ohio State Buckeyes travel to take on the Texas Longhorns.
Ohio State, the No. 1 team in the country, is coming off a big win over Ball State in Week 1. As for Texas, the No. 4 team in the country, they took down Texas State to open the season.
This game will be a rematch from last season's Week 1 showdown, where Ohio State was able to defend home-field. But now the scene shifts to Austin, giving the Longhorns a potential advantage.
Both teams are vying for a spot in the College Football Playoff, and a win here would go a long way. The fanbases for both programs have been excited all week leading into the game, with some calling their shot.
Actor Matthew McConaughey, a longtime Texas fan, discussed the game while speaking with Scott Van Pelt on ESPN. The actor is very excited for the game, sending a message to the Buckeyes ahead of the contest.
"It will be electric," McConaughey said. "It will hit into a volume frequency that [will make you] look down and wonder if your heels are still on the ground, even if you wear the heavy boots like I do."
Ohio State will need to prepare itself for the noise level coming from the stands. The Texas fans are going to be fired up for this contest, hoping to help their team get some revenge for last season.
But the Buckeyes have a talented group of players, led by star quarterback Julian Sayin and wide receiver Jeremiah Smith. Ohio State has the talent to come into Austin and win, but they will have to not beat themselves while trying to silence the Texas fans.
"We're ready. We've been looking forward to this. It will be 102,000 strong. It will be lit from the turf to the stands to the sky. It will be a night game, so everyone will be properly lubricated and ready to get it on with the burnt orange in the stands. It'll be the hell of the 12th man that we'll have. The whole weekend will be great, but Saturday night, that will be the place to be on the planet," McConaughey continued.
This game will be strength against strength, seeing two of the best teams go at it. Texas is favored in the game, with ESPN giving the Longhorns a 59.9 percent chance to win.
However, this doubt may only add more fuel to the fire for the Buckeyes. Kickoff for the game will be at 4:30 p.m. PT/7:30 p.m. ET at Darrell K Royal–Texas Memorial Stadium.
