The Buckeyes only get two players on the AP Preseason All-American List ahead of the 2026 season.

It's AP voting week, and for the Ohio State Buckeyes, it has been a pretty decent week. On Monday, they were named the No. 1 team in the country, and on Tuesday, they landed two players on the Preseason All-American list.

The one who is without question is wide receiver Jeremiah Smith. Smith is going to be regarded as the best player in all of college football next season, and rightfully so. He is everything that anyone could ever want in a wideout.

Standing at 6'3" while weighing in at 223 pounds is one thing; having the movement skills of a slot receiver is a totally different thing.

Smith is unguardable by anyone on the field. He is faster than linebackers, quicker and bigger than safeties, and way bigger than cornerbacks. When the ball is in the air, he sacrifices absolutely nothing, as he has the best hands in America. He has zero weaknesses in his game, and he is back for his final season to try and will his team to the National Championship next year.

For all of is hype, he was named to the AP All American First Team and deservedly so.

The other lone Buckeye to make the All-American team is left guard Luke Montgomery. Montgomery is an unquestioned leader of this Buckeye team. He filled in during Ohio State's most critical four-game stretch in the 2024 College Football Playoff run to the National Championship.

Now, as he enters his final year as a Buckeye before going to the draft, he is expecting to lead this Buckeye offensive line back to the dominant level that they are supposed to play at year after year.

Now, that was the good news. The bad news is, where is everyone else?

No Julian Sayin, no Austin Siereveld, no Kenyatta Jackson, or anyone else. I could hear an argument against maybe Siereveld or Jackson, but no Sayin on this list is very telling of what the National Media thinks of the Buckeyes' quarterback position.

Last year's final two games, plus the Buckeyes' really tough schedule next year, have spooked a lot of people. He didn't have his best last year against the best competition, and it resulted in the Buckeyes losing. Simple as that.

However, him not even getting a third team nod seems a little bit ridiculous.

The Buckeyes officially enter the 2026 season as the No. 1 team in the country, but with only a couple of guys on the preseason All-American list. Not that they care, they are dead set on getting off to a fast start in just two weekends.
