Coach Steve Lutz is revitalizing the Cowboys with top-15 ranked classes with elite high school prospects and battle-tested transfers are positioning Oklahoma State for a Big 12 resurgence
Coach Steve Lutz and his staff have been busy this offseason, and the results are starting to show.
Oklahoma State’s 2026-27 recruiting class is shaping up to be one of the more impressive hauls in recent program history.
Between high school prospects and transfers, the Cowboys are adding talent across the board as they try to climb back into serious Big 12 contention.On3 currently ranks Oklahoma State’s transfer portal class as the #9 in the country and their high school class as the #14 class.
That’s a strong combination that shows Lutz is attacking the roster rebuild from multiple angles.
The high school group brings youth, upside, and athleticism. The transfer class brings immediate experience and proven production. Together, they give Oklahoma State a nice mix that should help the program faster than most expected.
High School Commits
Latrell Allmond headlines the class as a former McDonald’s All-American. The 6-8 wing has the tools to be a difference-maker right away with his improved shooting and slashing ability.
Jalen Montonati, Parker Robinson, and Anthony Felesi round out the group and add depth and versatility. It’s not the biggest high school class, but the quality is there.
Transfer Portal Additions
This is where OSU has really made noise.
Jordan Burks (UCF) brings scoring and floor spacing.
Julius Halaifonua (Georgetown) gives them a legit 7-footer with efficiency around the rim.
Andrija Grbovic, Jacob Walker, Kashie Natt, and Luka Bogavac add even more depth and experience to the roster.
Kashie Natt in particular stands out as a walking double-double threat from the guard spot, while Burks has already shown he can perform in big moments.
This portal class has the kind of size, skill, and toughness that translates well in the Big 12.
Overall, Lutz has done a really good job balancing the class. He’s brought in immediate help through the portal while still adding high-upside high school kids for the long term.
The #9 portal ranking shows they were aggressive and smart with their targets, and the #14 high school ranking proves they’re still able to compete for good in-state and regional talent.
There’s still work to be done and possibly a few more additions before the season starts, but this is a solid foundation.
The Cowboys are no longer just taking whatever is left. They’re targeting specific needs and getting players who fit the system.
This class won’t fix everything overnight, but it’s a clear step in the right direction.
If the new guys mesh with returning pieces like Kayne Clary, Oklahoma State could surprise some people next season.
