Three high-stakes commitments on July 1st could propel Dan Lanning’s top-10 class even higher as the Ducks battle SEC and Big Ten rivals for elite defensive talent.
After a massive offseason full of recruiting for the Oregon Ducks and head coach Dan Lanning, the program will look to continue its incredible success heading into the month of July.
Lanning and his coaching staff’s hot run on the recruiting trail this summer has ultimately paid off for the Ducks, as the program is currently a consensus top-10 school in the 2027 recruiting class. This includes a total of 21 commits, with the five-star duo of wide receiver Rashad Street and wide receiver Dakota Guerrant as the leaders of the bunch.
However, in order to continue their recent success in the high school recruitment department, Jul 1st will be an important date for the Ducks, with a total of three targets set to announce their commitment to kick off the month.
Who Should Oregon Fans Keep an Eye On?
One of the most intriguing prospects in the mix for Oregon this offseason has been four-star athlete Tae Walden Jr., who is an electric two-way playmaker out of the state of Tennessee. As the No. 6-ranked athlete in the 2027 recruiting class, Walden is a lethal wide receiver and defensive back who will surely become a difference-maker at the college level in the near future.
Still, the Ducks must fight off the Georgia Bulldogs and the Ole Miss Rebels to land the prolific talent.
Another key prospect that Lanning and Oregon have had their eyes on this offseason is four-star cornerback Xavier Stepps out of the state of New Jersey. Luckily for the program, multiple college recruiting insiders have projected that Stepps will land with the Ducks this offseason, which would give Oregon its second cornerback commit in the 2027 class alongside fellow four-star Josiah Molden.
Finally, the last name that Ducks’ fans should keep an eye on this week is four-star offensive tackle Gecova Doyal.
After missing out on four-star Caden Moss to the Ohio State Buckeyes last week, Oregon could quickly recover from its miss with a commitment from Doyal on Wednesday. However, the Ducks must fight off the likes of multiple West Coast powerhouses for Doyal, including the Washington Huskies, the Utah Utes, and the UCLA Bruins.
