The Oregon Ducks and head coach Dan Lanning were able to score another highly-touted prospect in the 2027 recruiting class on Monday afternoon.

Another day, another victory for the Oregon Ducks and head coach Dan Lanning on the 2027 recruitment trail.

After successfully landing 11 commits in the upcoming recruiting class throughout the new year, the Ducks now possess one of the top-ranked classes in the 2027 cycle. The group includes multiple four-star prospects, such as EDGE Rashad Streets and cornerback Ai’King Hall. However, Lanning and the coaching staff’s hot start to the current recruiting cycle has yet to show any signs of slowly down heading into the summer.

According to Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett on Monday afternoon, 2027 four-star offensive tackle Cameron Wagner has committed to Oregon over the likes of Notre Dame, Wisconsin, and Illinois.

Wagner’s Recruitment Journey

Wagner has quickly become one of the most underrated prospects within the upcoming recruiting class, as the highly touted lineman is the No. 13-ranked player in the state of Illinois, as well as the No. 36 tackle in the class, per 247Sports’ Composite.

Despite Lanning and the Ducks being late to the party for Wagner, the program was able to offer him in December, which led to him attending Oregon’s Junior Day in January.Standing at 6-foot-5, 300 lbs., Wagner already possesses an ideal frame to be an offensive tackle at the college level.

This, along with his strength and ability to be a force in the run game, will allow him to excel with the Ducks, while also offering a solid baseline to improve as a pass blocker. Wagner is also a multi-sport athlete at St. Joseph-Ogden High School, which could help his athleticism at the next level.

Looking at the rest of the Ducks’ 2027 recruiting class, the addition of Wagner now brings the program’s total commits in the class to 13. Wagner is now the second offensive tackle to commit to the Ducks, as he is now set to join fellow four-star lineman Avery Michael. The Ducks could also add another offensive lineman in four-star Jake Hildebrand, who will announce his commitment on May 12.

Oregon is currently the No. 7-ranked program in the 2027 recruiting cycle, according to 247Sports.
