SMU men’s tennis returns home for Senior Day against Boston College with Trevor Svajda red-hot and the Mustangs looking to build on another strong win.

DALLAS - SMU men’s tennis returns to Dallas this weekend with momentum, ranking, and one of the hottest singles players in the country all in its favor.

The No. 31 Mustangs will host Boston College on Saturday at the Styslinger/Altec Tennis Complex in a match that also serves as Senior Day for the program.

The timing feels right for SMU.

The Mustangs are coming off a strong 4-1 road win over Rice, a result that helped them keep hold of the Turpin Cup and continue a season filled with steady progress.

Now they get back on their home courts with a chance to add another ACC win and keep sharpening their form for the postseason.

A huge part of that push has been Trevor Svajda, who continues to put together one of the best individual seasons in college tennis.

Svajda is now the No. 2 singles player in the ITA rankings and owns a remarkable 20-2 singles record this spring.

Even more impressive, he has dropped only nine sets in 54 played, showing just how consistently he has controlled matches.

His résumé this season has been loaded with quality wins. Svajda has taken down eight ranked opponents this spring, including Baylor’s No. 12 Devin Badenhorst, Ohio State’s No. 13 Aidan Kim, and Mississippi State’s No. 54 Benito Sanchez Martinez.

He also recently earned a wild card into ATP 1000 qualifying at Indian Wells and became the first Mustang since Richey Reneberg in 1999 to win a match at that level.

That kind of form gives SMU a major edge heading into the weekend.

The Mustangs also have recent success against Boston College, having beaten the Eagles 4-0 last season in the teams’ only previous meeting.

For SMU, this match is about more than one day of recognition.

It’s a chance to celebrate the seniors, protect home court, and keep building toward the most important stretch of the season. With Svajda leading the way, the Mustangs should feel confident about where things stand.
