Jack Stonehouse is headed to Indianapolis.
Congratulations are in order for Syracuse University punter Jack Stonehouse, who just earned an invitation to the NFL Scouting Combine, which begins Feb. 26 in Indianapolis, Ind.
While it's unlikely that we'll see a punter drafted in the upcoming NFL Draft, a trip to the combine is great for Stonehouse's visibility and signability after the draft. He'll get an opportunity to meet with teams and executives while also showing off his skillset.
A redshirt senior from California, Stonehouse previously played at Missouri. He amassed 59 punts in 2025 totaling a 47.1 yards per punt average. He had 20 kicks of 50 yards or more and had 14 punts inside the 20. His career long is 64 yards, something he's achieved each of the last three seasons.
He was a first team All-ACC selection.
About SU football in 2025
Stonehouse got a lot of opportunity to kick in 2025 because of the struggles of the team's offense. The Orange finished the season at 3-9 overall, due in large part to the injury to quarterback Steve Angeli. Angeli was lost for the season in the fourth game of the year and SU lost the final eight games of the campaign as a result.
Looking ahead
Things look brighter for Fran Brown and Co., as the Orange will get Angeli back healthy in 2026. Beyond that, SU has had a successful transfer portal period, bringing in several players with significant playing time experience.
