TCU women’s basketball adds Hanna Hudson and promotes Leah Sopak as Mark Campbell reloads his staff after a 66-10 run and two Elite Eight trips in Fort Worth.
TCU women’s basketball isn’t acting like a program trying to catch up anymore. It’s acting like one trying to stay dangerous.
Mark Campbell has added Hanna Hudson and promoted Leah Sopak ahead of the 2026-27 season, giving the Horned Frogs two staff moves that fit the program’s new reality that expectations are no longer cute in Fort Worth. They’re massive.
Hudson joins TCU as director of operations after spending the past four seasons in the same role at New Mexico. That job isn’t flashy.
Travel, scheduling, budgets, daily structure - those are the pieces that keep a high-level program from turning into chaos.
During Hudson’s four years with the Lobos, New Mexico posted a winning record each season, including a 22-9 finish in 2025-26.
She also brings playing credibility. Hudson appeared in 105 games at East Texas Baptist, started 74 of them and earned All-American Southwest Conference recognition during her career.
She later completed both her undergraduate business degree and MBA at ETBU.
Sopak’s promotion may be even more telling. After two seasons as a graduate assistant, she moves into a full-time role as director of recruiting operations and student-athlete development, with added responsibilities in scouting, video work and practice support.
She’s already been inside the machine during the best stretch in TCU basketball history.
Over the last two seasons, the Horned Frogs went 66-10, won three Big 12 titles, reached back-to-back NCAA Elite Eights and twice finished No. 6 in the AP poll.
Sopak also worked around elite talent, including Hailey Van Lith and Olivia Miles.
Her connection to Campbell runs deep through her father, Kelly Sopak, a longtime coach with ties to Sabrina Ionescu’s development before Campbell helped recruit Ionescu to Oregon.
TCU didn’t just fill jobs here. Campbell added infrastructure, continuity and recruiting energy.
For a program that’s already stormed into the national conversation, that’s how you keep the pressure on.
