The Horned Frogs picked up their biggest pledge of the current recruiting cycle this week.

This week, 4-star cornerback Daniel Yebit committed to the TCU Horned Frogs, making him the program's first blue-chip pledge in the 2027 recruiting class.

Yebit, a native of Yukon, Okla., is the No. 5-ranked player in the state and a top-20 cornerback in the nation, according to multiple recruiting platforms.

The 14th 2027 commitment overall, Yebit's announcement adds to what has been a remarkable run, where TCU has landed 10 of those commitments in June alone.

The 6-3, 180-pounder instantly becomes TCU's highest-rated recruit in this cycle, as he joins top commits like EDGE Drake Carroll and wide receiver Kobe Haynes.

In the 2025 season, Yebit flashed his athleticism on both sides of the football for Yukon. He grabbed 43 receptions for 760 yards and six touchdowns on offense, then turned around to pick up four interceptions, 36 total tackles, and three tackles for loss defensively.

Those talents translated to the track, as well. Yebit is a state champion in high jump with a personal record of over seven feet, and he has an outdoor personal best of 24 feet 10 inches in the long jump.

"Two-way standout with verified athleticism who projects as a modern longer-framed cornerback," said scouting analyst Gabe Brooks about Yebit. "Productive player at receiver and in the secondary. Outstanding explosion markers in the high and long jumps. That quick-twitch juice shows in pads. Consistently displays body control and ball skills on both sides.

"Awareness and impact playmaking acumen could provide for some role flexibility in the defensive backfield. Projects to the [Power Four] level as a potential multi-year starter with long-term NFL Draft data points."

Yebit represents a rare commitment from outside the state of Texas for Sonny Dykes' program. Over 70 percent of TCU's commitments in the 2027 class are from in-state high schools.

Nonetheless, Yebit adds a major boost to a TCU squad trying to stay near the top of the Big 12 and chase the clear leader, Texas Tech.

Rivals has the Horned Frogs leaping to No. 39 in the overall national recruiting rankings and No. 5 in the conference behind Texas Tech, Kansas State, West Virginia, and Colorado.
