Tanner Sagouspe leads six TCU baseball players earning All-Big 12 recognition before the Horned Frogs open conference tournament play.

FORT WORTH - TCU baseball is rolling into the Big 12 Tournament with some serious hardware attached.

Six Horned Frogs earned All-Big 12 recognition, with Tanner Sagouspe leading the way as TCU’s lone first-team selection.

Lance Davis landed on the second team, while Chase Brunson, Cole Cramer and Zack James received honorable mention honors. Freshman Brady Dallimore also made the Big 12 All-Freshman Team.

That’s not bad timing for a team trying to make noise in postseason play.

Sagouspe has been filthy since arriving at TCU. The transfer right-hander owns a team-best 2.51 ERA, a 3-3 record and five saves in 19 appearances.

He has struck out 42 hitters in 32.1 innings while holding opponents to a .200 batting average. In Big 12 games, he posted a 2.60 ERA and collected all five of his saves.

Davis gave the Frogs a dependable workhorse in the rotation. He’s 5-3 across a team-high 14 starts with two complete games and 80 innings pitched. In conference play, Davis was even sharper, going 5-1 with a 2.97 ERA and 40 strikeouts in 63.2 innings.

The bats got respect, too.

Brunson has been one of TCU’s most dangerous offensive pieces, hitting .304 with team highs in RBI (51) and stolen bases (13). He also has 10 home runs and 11 doubles. Cramer has been the steady engine, playing all 53 games and leading the Frogs with a .313 average and 66 hits.

James added another strong arm to the mix, going 6-0 with a 3.64 ERA and 48 strikeouts in 59.1 innings. Dallimore made an immediate freshman impact with eight home runs, 23 RBI and a .293 average in league play.

Now the awards are done. The spotlight shifts to winning.

TCU opens Big 12 Tournament play Wednesday at 10 p.m. CT against either Utah or Kansas State on ESPN+.
