That surge has pushed TCU to No. 41 in the latest RPI report and has the Frogs playing some of their best baseball of the season.
The offense has been a major reason for the climb. TCU has hit 29 home runs over its last 19 games, boosting its season total to 52. The Frogs have also piled up 30 extra-base hits in their last seven games, including 14 during the Houston series. They’ve been patient, too, ranking 13th nationally with 251 walks.
The most encouraging part might be how TCU is winning. The Frogs have 16 comeback victories this season, including 10 after trailing by multiple runs. Three times in the last five games, they’ve erased eighth-inning deficits.
Pitching has also stabilized in April. TCU owns a 3.49 team ERA this month and is 10-5 during that stretch.
Tommy LaPour returned Sunday after 72 days on the injured list, while Tanner Sagouspe has thrown five straight scoreless outings with 12 strikeouts in six innings.
UT Arlington arrives at 16-25 and has struggled lately, winning just three of its last 10 games.
The Mavericks are hitting .262, led by Xavier Melendez at .371, while Xander McAfee has six homers and 36 RBIs. Their pitching staff owns a 5.66 ERA.

There’s also a revenge angle. UTA beat TCU 11-7 earlier this season at Globe Life Field, though the Frogs lead the all-time series 116-64-1.
At Lupton Stadium, where TCU is 531-182 all-time, the Frogs will try to keep the streak rolling.
