FORT WORTH - TCU women’s tennis is finally back on the NCAA Tournament stage.
For the first time since 2017, the Horned Frogs have earned a spot in the NCAA Championships, landing the No. 2 seed in the Baton Rouge Regional.
TCU secured its return by winning the Big 12 Tournament championship, giving the program an automatic bid and a major breakthrough season.
The Frogs will open NCAA play against Rice on May 2 at 11 a.m. CT. If TCU advances, it will face either LSU or Stephen F. Austin on May 3 at 2 p.m. CT with a trip beyond the opening weekend on the line.
This marks TCU’s 19th NCAA Tournament appearance. Before the current drought, the Frogs had been a regular postseason presence, making 18 of 22 NCAA fields from 1996 through 2017. Now, they’re trying to turn a long-awaited return into an extended stay.
TCU should enter the first round with confidence. The Horned Frogs already beat Rice 4-0 earlier this season in February, giving them a recent head-to-head edge.
The rest of the regional also brings some familiarity. TCU faced LSU in Baton Rouge in 2024 and owns a 1-0 all-time record against SFA after beating the Ladyjacks in 2022.
The program has advanced past the first weekend of the NCAA Tournament only once, reaching the third round in 2006. That gives this year’s team a chance to make history if it can survive the Baton Rouge Regional.

Tickets for the regional are $5 for adults and $3 for kids through LSU’s tournament information page. Parking near the LSU Tennis Complex will be limited, with Lot 411 available and Lots 408-409 unavailable due to LSU baseball reserved parking.
For TCU, the mission is clear: keep the comeback season rolling.
