TCU improved to 22-5 and pushed its home NCAA Tournament winning streak to 25 matches.
The Frogs grabbed control immediately in doubles. Albert Pedrico and Cooper Woestendick won 6-2 at No. 2, and the No. 4-ranked duo of Duncan Chan and Cosme Rolland De Ravel followed with another 6-2 victory at No. 1 to secure the opening point.
That made TCU 23-2 this season when winning the doubles point.
Singles didn’t last much longer. Chan, ranked No. 8 nationally and recently named Big 12 Co-Player of the Year, beat Raffaello Papajcik 6-1, 6-2 at No. 1 to extend the lead.
Freshman Oliver Bonding, the Big 12 Freshman of the Year, added a 6-1, 6-3 win over Connor Robb-Wilcox at No. 4. Roger Pascual then clinched the match at No. 6 with a 6-2, 6-1 victory against Aaron Beduhn.
TCU also led on courts two and three when play stopped, showing the depth that has carried the Frogs through another elite season.
The win marked TCU’s 11th straight trip to the NCAA second round and extended its home outdoor winning streak to 31 matches. Head coach David Roditi also improved to 36-11 in NCAA Tournament play.
Next up is Cornell, which rallied past Arkansas 4-3. A win Saturday would send TCU to Super Regional weekend for the 11th consecutive season.
