TCU landed Round Rock standouts Dylan Jaeger and Colton Steed, adding a productive tight end and a massive offensive lineman to its 2027 class.
TCU football recruiting got a double shot of Round Rock toughness Sunday, and Sonny Dykes’ 2027 class suddenly looks a lot more dangerous up front and over the middle.
The Horned Frogs landed commitments from tight end Dylan Jaeger and offensive lineman Colton Steed after both prospects took official visits to Fort Worth over the weekend.
It’s the kind of two-for-one recruiting punch that doesn’t just add numbers. It adds identity.
Jaeger gives TCU its first tight end commitment in the class, and he’s not some projection-only prospect.
The 6-3, 207-pound Round Rock standout put real production on tape as a junior, catching 66 passes for 1,003 yards and nine touchdowns.
That’s big-time volume for a tight end, especially one who can create matchup issues as a pass catcher.
He also brings an interesting offer sheet. Jaeger held 13 Division I offers, including Yale, Penn, Dartmouth and Princeton, along with Army and Air Force.
In other words, TCU isn’t just getting size and production. It’s getting a smart, polished target who should fit nicely in a modern passing game.
Then there’s Steed, who looks like he was built in a lab for offensive line coaches.
At 6-7 and 265 pounds, with an 80-inch wingspan, Steed gives the Horned Frogs a long, developmental tackle prospect with serious upside.
His offer list included North Texas, UTSA, New Mexico and New Mexico State, but TCU jumped in and got the win.
Steed becomes the 11th commitment in the Horned Frogs’ 2027 class and the third offensive line pledge, joining Ty Greene and Alexander Herrera.

That’s a clear sign TCU is making the trenches a priority early in the cycle. Jaeger brings the production. Steed brings the frame. Together, they give TCU a Sunday recruiting sweep with real staying power.
Fort Worth just got bigger, longer and a whole lot more interesting.
