TCU football’s 2026 schedule has changed, with the Horned Frogs now set for a Friday night game at Arizona and a Thanksgiving matchup at Texas Tech.
TCU football schedule changes are officially in for 2026, and the Horned Frogs now have two high-visibility road games moved off Saturday.
The TCU football trip to Arizona has been shifted to Friday, Nov. 6, while the regular-season finale at Texas Tech will now be played on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 26.
Those two adjustments give Sonny Dykes’ team a different rhythm late in the year and add a little more national spotlight to the stretch run of the Big 12 football schedule.
Broadcast details and kickoff times are still to come, but the date moves alone make the closing month of TCU’s season feel more dramatic.
The Arizona game stands out because it sends TCU back to Tucson for the first time in more than two decades. The Horned Frogs haven’t played there since 2003, when they escaped with a 13-10 overtime win.
That adds a bit of historical intrigue to a matchup that already figures to matter in the Big 12 race.
Then comes the Thanksgiving road trip to Lubbock, which always has the potential to get weird in a rivalry-style setting. TCU hasn’t exactly owned that venue lately, either.
Texas Tech has been a difficult draw there, even though the Horned Frogs have still managed to win four of their last five games in Lubbock, including victories in 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2021.
The rest of the 2026 slate still begins with a headline-grabbing opener against North Carolina in Dublin on Aug. 29, followed by home games against Grambling State and Arkansas State.
Big 12 home dates include BYU, West Virginia, Kansas, Kansas State and Utah.
For TCU, the updated schedule doesn’t change the opponents, but it does change the feel of the season.
Friday night in Tucson and Thanksgiving in Lubbock should give the Horned Frogs two late-season stages with plenty of attention and plenty at stake.
