TCU junior Kirstin Angosta sits tied for eighth at the NCAA Championship, chasing an individual title and program history at La Costa.
TCU women’s golf has a real shot at history, and Kirstin Angosta is the reason.
Angosta fired a 1-under 71 in the third round of the NCAA D1 Women’s Golf Championships at Omni La Costa Resort and Spa, keeping herself inside the top 10 heading into Monday’s final round.

The TCU junior sits tied for eighth at 6-under 210, just four shots behind co-leaders Farah O’Keefe of Texas and Catherine Park of USC.
That’s striking distance.
Angosta entered Sunday tied for fourth and wasted no time making noise. Starting on the back nine, she ripped off three straight birdies on Nos. 14, 15 and 16, briefly pulling even at the top of the leaderboard.
She added another birdie on the par-5 second hole before finishing with seven straight pars to stay firmly in the championship hunt.
The numbers tell the story of a player who isn’t just hanging around. She’s attacking.
Angosta leads the entire tournament with 15 birdies, including 10 on the second nine. That’s not luck. That’s knowing where the scoring chances are and taking them when the stage is at its loudest.
Her recent form has been ridiculous, too. Angosta has now posted five straight rounds of par or better and six of her last seven dating back to the Big 12 Championship, where she earned All-Tournament recognition. Her scoring average has dropped to 70.8.
Now she’s chasing something no Horned Frog has ever done.
A top-15 finish, including ties, would put Angosta on the NCAA Championships All-Tournament team, making her the first TCU golfer to earn that honor.
She’s also only the second Horned Frog to advance to individual play at Nationals.
The final round airs Monday on Golf Channel, with Angosta teeing off at 3:10 p.m. CT from the back nine.
Four shots back. Eighteen holes left. TCU has a contender.
