The Frogs have officially added one of the best junior-college players in the country for the upcoming 2026-27 season.
TCU Men's Basketball announced three additions to the roster for the 2026-27 season, and one includes a highly-coveted recruit out of the junior-college ranks.
Trent Lincoln has officially signed to join the Horned Frogs after being recruited by Jamie Dixon's staff as the top-ranked JUCO player in this cycle, according to JUCOrecruiting.com.
The site says Lincoln chose TCU over big-name programs such as Kansas, Oregon, and Kansas State. The 6-3 guard averaged 19.4 points, 4.5 rebounds and 6.1 assists as a sophomore at Gulf Coast State en route to winning Panhandle Conference Player of the Year honors and guiding the Commodores to an appearance in the NJCAA DI Men's Basketball Championship semifinals.
This success in JUCO recruiting is no secret. Lincoln's addition marks the second time Dixon's staff has lured the top-ranked JUCO product to Fort Worth. Last year, Xavier Edmonds was the best available player from junior college and would ultimately earn All-Big 12 honors this past season for the Frogs.
This offseason, Edmonds announced that he'd be returning to TCU next season, a major bonus for a front court that has lost starting forward David Punch to the transfer portal. Punch committed to join the Texas Longhorns last week.
Lincoln is expected to bring an immediate scoring load to the Frogs' lineup. That much is apparent from his 18 times scoring at least 20 points last season, including the career-high 39 points scored against Chipola College, the school he played at during his freshman season out of Wharton High School in Tampa, Fla.
"Lincoln has separated himself as the top JUCO prospect in the 2026 class, playing with poise, control, and maturity on both ends of the floor," said JUCOrecruiting's Brad Winton.
"He is trusted to shoulder the scoring load while also functioning as one of the nation’s most effective distributors. The 6'3" left-handed guard consistently pressures the defense by attacking the rim, shooting the three with deep range, and making high-level reads offensively. He owns an explosive first step, finishes through contact, and uses his body, anticipation, and quick hands to impact the game defensively."
Also joining TCU this cycle is a pair of big men: 6-10 Serbian center Miloš Šojić, and 7-footer Ryan Hunt from Australia.
The Horned Frogs look to build on an NCAA tournament Round of 32 appearance as a No. 9 seed and 23-12 regular season.
