Former Texas A&M star Braden Mann lands a four-year, $14M extension with the Philadelphia Eagles

The Texas A&M NFL pipeline continues to produce big paydays, and the latest Aggie to secure his future in the league is Philadelphia Eagles punter Braden Mann.

The former Ray Guy Award winner and two-time First-Team All-SEC selection has reportedly agreed to a four-year, $14 million contract extension with the Eagles, including $7 million guaranteed.

The deal locks Mann into Philadelphia’s special teams unit for the foreseeable future and marks a significant milestone for the former Texas A&M standout.

For Mann, the extension is the culmination of a winding journey through the NFL.

Originally entering the league in 2020, the Texas A&M product bounced between teams before finally finding stability in Philadelphia.

After being elevated from the Eagles’ practice squad in 2023, Mann seized the starting punter job and quickly proved his value.

That opportunity turned into a championship season.

Mann played a role in the Eagles’ dominant 40-22 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl, handling punting duties and contributing to the field-position battle that helped Philadelphia control the game.

While punters rarely grab headlines, coaches and front offices understand how valuable consistent special teams play can be.

Now the Eagles have rewarded Mann with long-term security.

During his college career at Texas A&M, Mann established himself as one of the most decorated punters in program history.

His powerful leg and precision placement earned him the Ray Guy Award, given annually to the nation’s best collegiate punter.

That success has translated to the professional level, where Mann has continued to showcase the skills that made him a standout in College Station.

He also joins a growing list of former Aggies landing major NFL contracts, including offensive lineman Jermaine Eluemunor, defensive lineman Micheal Clemons, and star wide receiver Mike Evans, who recently signed a three-year deal with the San Francisco 49ers.

For Mann, the extension represents more than just a new contract.

It’s proof that even specialists can carve out long, successful careers ... especially when they come from one of college football’s most reliable NFL pipelines.
