Texas A&M star Lucciana Perez earned SEC Player of the Year after a perfect 13-0 singles run and a No. 1 national ranking.

Lucciana Perez has been one of the biggest reasons Texas A&M women’s tennis keeps stacking championships, and now she has one of the SEC’s top individual honors to match.

Perez was named SEC Player of the Year on Wednesday after putting together an undefeated regular season in singles play.

The Texas A&M junior went 13-0 and extended her regular-season singles winning streak to a school-record 32 consecutive victories.

That kind of consistency has helped keep the Aggies among the best programs in college tennis.

Texas A&M has won five straight SEC regular-season championships, added an SEC Tournament title, claimed a national championship and remained a fixture near the top of the national rankings during its remarkable run.

Perez is now just the second Aggie to win SEC Player of the Year, joining Mary Stoiana, who captured the award in 2023 and 2024.

That connection says plenty about the standard Texas A&M has built: one elite player passes the torch, and another keeps the program rolling.

The Peru native hasn’t just been dominant inside the conference, either. Perez currently owns the No. 1 national singles ranking with 76.65 points, giving her a clear spot at the top of the college tennis field.

She also made an impact during the postseason by earning SEC All-Tournament Team honors.

Her value goes beyond singles. Perez and Mia Kupres are ranked No. 11 nationally in doubles, giving Texas A&M another high-level weapon as championship pressure builds.

For the Aggies, Perez has become the kind of player every title contender needs. She’s steady, proven and almost impossible to shake when matches tighten.

Texas A&M already had the profile of a powerhouse before this season. With Perez playing at this level, the Aggies look like a program still very much in the middle of a historic run.
