Texas A&M basketball is targeting VCU transfer Terrence Hill Jr. after the sophomore guard averaged 15 points and could fill a major Aggies need in 2026.
Texas A&M basketball is back in the transfer portal market, and one of the more intriguing names tied to the Aggies is VCU guard Terrence Hill Jr.
As Bucky McMillan begins reshaping his roster for the 2026 season, Texas A&M appears focused on adding perimeter scoring, experience and a player who can thrive in an up-tempo system.
That need has only grown as the Aggies prepare to move on from several key contributors.
Rashaun Agee, who paced the team in both scoring and rebounding, is among the notable departures, while Rylan Griffen and multiple veteran pieces are also out of the mix.
On top of that, guards Josh Holloway and Ruben Dominguez entering the transfer portal created even more roster turnover heading into a pivotal offseason in College Station.
Hill stands out as a logical target.
The former VCU standout averaged 15 points per game and 2.8 assists, emerging as one of the Rams’ top offensive weapons.
He also shot an efficient 47 percent from the field and 37 percent from 3-point range, numbers that should immediately grab the attention of a Texas A&M staff looking for guards who can score without hijacking possessions.
That fit matters for McMillan, whose style leans on pace, spacing and quality looks from the perimeter.
Hill’s ability to create offense while still shooting efficiently makes him a strong match for that kind of attack, especially for an Aggies team that needs another dependable backcourt option capable of taking over stretches of a game.
Of course, Texas A&M won’t be alone in the chase. Hill is expected to draw plenty of interest as he looks to make the jump to the Power Four level after helping VCU earn an NCAA Tournament win.
Still, the Aggies clearly have needs, opportunity and a system that could appeal to one of the portal’s more productive guards.
For McMillan, that makes this recruitment one worth watching closely.
