Texas A&M is pushing hard for four-star linebacker Kaden Henderson as Miami, Ohio State and Notre Dame remain in the race.
Texas A&M recruiting is already loaded in the 2027 class, but Mike Elko still has one glaring box to check: linebacker.
The Aggies have built one of the nation’s most impressive defensive hauls, headlined by four five-star commitments, including IMG Academy edge rusher Zyron Forstall.

Still, after signing four linebackers in the 2026 class, Texas A&M has yet to land one at the position for 2027.
That makes four-star linebacker Kaden Henderson one of the most important names on the board.
Henderson, a Tampa Bay native, is reportedly down to a battle that could center on Texas A&M and Miami, with the Hurricanes making a serious push to keep him closer to home.
But the Aggies appear to be in strong position because of Henderson’s relationship with Elko and linebackers coach Travis Williams.
“We believe this ultimately comes down to A&M and Miami, with the Aggies having the edge right now,” AggieYell reported.
Henderson isn’t the only linebacker Texas A&M is monitoring. Four-star prospects Isaac McNeil, Ja’Bios Smith, Mikahi Allen, Noah Glover and Drew Williams are also names to watch.
McNeil could become especially important if Henderson chooses Miami, and his connection to five-star edge JaBarrious Garror adds another layer to the Aggies’ recruiting board.
Still, Henderson remains the priority.
Texas A&M’s recent NFL Draft success may also help. The Aggies had a record 10 players selected in the 2026 NFL Draft, giving Elko and his staff a powerful development pitch.
“It means a lot,” Henderson told AggieYell. “It speaks to not only what they’re doing… whenever they speak with me, it’s a testament to that they really produce guys and get guys to the next level.”
That message matters for a blue-chip linebacker looking for the best path to the NFL.
Henderson also said Texas A&M’s rise under Elko feels real.
“Whenever you win, you’re going to be having those guys getting to the league,” Henderson said. “I feel like the trajectory they’re in, they’re going to keep ascending.”
Now comes the visit stretch. Henderson is scheduled to see Miami on May 29, Texas A&M on June 5, Ohio State on June 12 and Notre Dame on June 19.
For the Aggies, that June 5 visit could be massive. If Elko closes the deal, Texas A&M’s loaded defensive class gets the linebacker centerpiece it still needs.
