Texas A&M produced 10 NFL Draft picks in 2026, tying Alabama for the SEC lead and proving Mike Elko’s development plan is working.
Texas A&M football made a loud statement in the 2026 NFL Draft, producing 10 selections and giving Mike Elko one of the strongest player-development wins of his Aggies tenure.
The Aggies finished tied for second nationally in total draft picks, trailing only Ohio State and matching Alabama for the SEC lead.

It was also the most selections for Texas A&M in the modern era, a major milestone for a program trying to turn talent into consistent NFL production.
Texas A&M had a player drafted in every round except the fifth, and the early results were even more impressive.
Seven Aggies were selected in the first three rounds, showing that NFL teams weren’t just taking late-round chances on A&M prospects. They were investing premium picks.
One of the biggest stories was the wide receiver breakthrough. For years, Texas A&M carried a reputation for struggling to develop NFL-ready receivers. That criticism looks outdated now.
After Ainias Smith and Jahdae Walker earned NFL roster spots last year despite going undrafted, KC Concepcion raised the bar in 2026.
Concepcion went No. 24 overall to the Cleveland Browns, becoming just the second Aggies wide receiver drafted in the first round since Mike Evans.
The transfer portal also played a major role. Six of Texas A&M’s 10 draft picks began their careers elsewhere, giving Elko and his staff a powerful recruiting message: come to College Station, improve, and get noticed.

For Texas A&M, this draft class wasn’t just about one big weekend. It was proof that the program is building NFL talent across the roster.
Under Elko, the Aggies are no longer just collecting highly rated players. They’re turning them into draft picks.
