Texas A&M Recruiting: Aggies Trending for 4-Star OL in 2027 Class cover image

Four-star Colorado lineman Jackson Roper plans a June official visit as Texas A&M football gains momentum in the 2027 recruiting class.

Texas A&M’s 2027 recruiting class is building serious momentum up front, and the Aggies may be closing in on another key piece along the offensive line.

Four-star interior offensive lineman Jackson Roper, a standout at Cherry Creek High School in Colorado, is trending toward College Station after receiving a prediction to land with Texas A&M.

The 6-4, 290-pound blocker has scheduled an official visit for June 5 - a weekend that could prove pivotal in shaping the Aggies’ future in the trenches.

Roper is currently ranked by On3 as the No. 14 interior offensive lineman in the country and the No. 1 overall prospect in Colorado.

Though he plays left tackle at the high school level, many evaluators project him inside at guard in college, where his physicality and run-blocking ability could shine.

Texas A&M offensive line coach Adam Cushing has played a major role in building that relationship per On3's Steve Wiltfong.

“I’d have to say the relationship with everyone at A&M has been fantastic from the beginning,” Roper stated. “They’ve taking time to really get to know me and my family. They understand what’s important to us and they focus on those things every time we get together. That’s really helped us develop a relationship with everyone from Coach Elko on down."

Roper has spoken openly about the connection he and his family have formed with Cushing and head coach Mike Elko, citing the staff’s attention to detail and personal approach as major factors in his interest.

Elko, now entering his third year leading the program, has a history of recruiting Colorado talent.

During his time as Texas A&M’s defensive coordinator, he helped secure offensive tackle Trey Zuhn in the 2021 class. Zuhn, also from Colorado, developed into a multi-year starter at left tackle and recently earned an invitation to the NFL Scouting Combine.

That pipeline could continue with Roper.

The Aggies already hold commitments from elite prospects in the 2027 cycle, including five-star offensive linemen Kennedy Brown and Mark Mathews.

Adding Roper would further solidify what is shaping up to be one of the nation’s top offensive line hauls.

With his June visit approaching, all eyes will be on College Station.

If Texas A&M can capitalize on its momentum, Roper could be the next cornerstone in a class designed to dominate the SEC trenches for years to come.
