No. 10 Texas A&M softball brings a six-game SEC win streak and one of the league’s hottest offenses into a ranked road series at South Carolina.

No. 10 Texas A&M softball heads to Columbia this weekend with real postseason momentum, and the Aggies have a chance to tighten their grip near the top of the SEC standings against No. 24 South Carolina.

Texas A&M enters the series 34-12 overall and 14-4 in SEC play, good for third in the league.

The Aggies have won five of their six conference series, including a breakthrough road series victory at LSU and a sweep at Ole Miss.

They’ll also carry a six-game SEC winning streak into Friday’s nationally televised opener at Carolina Softball Stadium.

The matchup begins Friday at 6 p.m. on ESPN2, with Courtney Lyle and Danielle Lawrie on the call. Saturday’s game is scheduled for 2 p.m., and Sunday’s finale is set for noon.

The full series will stream on SEC Network+.

A&M has controlled the all-time series, holding a 32-19 edge over South Carolina and winning five straight meetings.

The last time the teams saw each other, the Aggies ended the Gamecocks’ SEC Tournament stay with a 12-4 run-rule win in Athens. South Carolina, however, swept A&M in Columbia in 2023, giving this weekend a little extra edge.

The biggest reason Texas A&M looks dangerous is its lineup. In SEC games, the Aggies rank second in batting average (.326), on-base percentage (.429) and OPS (.954).

Mya Perez has been one of the league’s toughest outs, leading conference play with 25 walks and a .623 on-base percentage. Kennedy Powell has added steady pressure, ranking second in the SEC with 26 hits and six doubles.

Power has been part of the formula, too. The Aggies have homered in 35 of 46 games and have 19 multi-homer performances.

When A&M scores early, it usually stays in control: the Aggies are 20-3 when scoring in the first inning and 31-1 when leading after four.
