Texas A&M’s 2026 Maroon & White Game ended with freshman Helaman Casuga finding Luke Braden late, as the Aggies closed spring with a dramatic finish.
Texas A&M football wrapped up its 2026 Maroon & White Game with a dramatic final sequence Saturday at Kyle Field, as sophomore tight end Luke Braden hauled in a 23-yard touchdown from freshman quarterback Helaman Casuga with just two seconds left to lift Team Maroon to a 15-13 win.
The late score gave fans one final offensive highlight in a spring game that mostly belonged to the Aggies’ defense and special teams.
For much of the afternoon, big plays were hard to come by, but Texas A&M still found a memorable finish when Casuga led an 11-play, 61-yard march and delivered the winning pass to Braden in the closing seconds.
Braden’s touchdown capped a strong final drive and continued a growing connection between the young quarterback and the sophomore playmaker.
One snap earlier, Casuga hit Braden again on third down to keep the possession alive and move Team Maroon into scoring position.
Defense set the tone early. Sophomore linebacker Noah Mikhail produced the first touchdown of the day when he jumped a pass and returned the interception 30 yards for a score.
That play stood as the game’s only touchdown until Braden’s winner at the horn, underscoring how disruptive Texas A&M’s defense looked throughout the scrimmage.
The Aggies also got a strong showing from the kicking game.
Graduate transfer David Olano drilled field goals from 39 and 33 yards for Team White, while freshman Asher Murray impressed with three makes for Team Maroon, including a booming 53-yarder that showcased serious range.
Several skill players flashed during the afternoon, including Mario Craver, Jamarion Morrow, Ashton Bethel-Roman and Isaiah Horton, each of whom helped generate chunk plays in an otherwise defensive battle.
With spring now complete, Texas A&M turns its attention to the 2026 season opener against Missouri State on Saturday, Sept. 5, when the Aggies will look to build on the young talent and late-game poise they showed at Kyle Field.
