Texas women’s basketball adds ESPN top-25 prospect Isi Etute, giving Vic Schaefer another major recruiting win for the Longhorns’ 2026 class.
Texas women’s basketball picked up a major recruiting win this week as Isi Etute officially joined the Longhorns’ 2026 class, giving Vic Schaefer and his staff another high-upside frontcourt piece during a busy offseason.
For a program navigating roster movement, the addition of one of the nation’s top prospects is a timely boost.
Texas women’s basketball, Isi Etute, and the Longhorns’ 2026 recruiting class are all drawing attention right now, and for good reason.
Etute arrives with a strong international resume, proven production at IMG Academy, and the kind of size and efficiency that should translate well to the college game.
The Luxembourg standout is ranked No. 24 nationally in the 2026 class by ESPN and has built her profile through both school and international competition.
At IMG Academy in Florida, Etute posted 17.8 points, 10.7 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.7 steals per game while shooting 52 percent from the field.
That blend of scoring touch, rebounding and activity on both ends made her one of the more intriguing forwards in the class.
Her rise started before IMG. Playing for her youth national team in 2024, Etute averaged 18.7 points and 13.4 rebounds, numbers that quickly put college programs on notice.
She’s also shown she can produce against strong international competition. In FIBA EuroBasket qualifying play, she delivered a dominant 27-point, 19-rebound performance that further cemented her status as an elite prospect.
For Texas, the commitment adds even more firepower to an already impressive 2026 group.
The Longhorns now have five top-50 recruits in the class, including Addison Bjorn, Brihanna Crittendon, Aaliyah Spaight and Amalia Holguin.

That kind of recruiting haul gives Schaefer one of the most talent-rich foundations in the country.
Etute’s official addition doesn’t solve every offseason question, but it does give Texas another difference-maker. And with her production, pedigree and upside, it’s easy to see why excitement is building in Austin.
