No. 6 has a primetime slot against No. 3 Georgia to begin the Men's College World Series.

The Texas Longhorns are entering their 39th Men's College World Series in program history, and as expected, the NCAA's all-time winningest postseason program has received a primetime television spot to begin the tournament.

No. 6-seed Texas will play the No. 3 Georgia Bulldogs at 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 13, at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, with the game airing live on ESPN.

It's an all-SEC showdown as the Horns and Dawgs both finished at the top of the league. Texas (45-13) fell one spot short of repeating as regular-season conference champs as Georgia pulled ahead with a stout 51-12 record. The Longhorns finished 3.5 games behind the Bulldogs in conference play, with Georgia going 23-7 and Texas finishing 19-10 against league competition.

The two teams have not yet played this season head-to-head.

Longhorns Learning From Former MLB Star in Omaha Prep

Adrian Rodriguez, the Longhorns' leading offensive force during the Austin Super Regional sweep of No. 11 Oregon, spoke about his preparation heading into another week of the season.

"Us as an offensive group, we've met every single day, talked about what postseason play is like, and [hitting coach Troy Tulowitzki] talking about what his experiences with his past groups, what they did to succeed."

Rodriguez has raved about "Tulo," throughout this postseason, as the 13-year MLB vet and five-time All-Star has developed the Longhorns' bats this season.

"Even when he played in the MLB," Rodriguez continued. "His postseason experiences definitely helped us ... to help us get to where we are right now."

In the postgame press conference following Rodriguez's game-winning hit that pushed the Longhorns past the Ducks, head coach Jim Schlossnagle shrugged that he hadn't yet spent much thought on the matchup with Georgia.

But from what he does know automatically, Schloss is prepared for a brutal test of wills between two conference rivals who finally get to face off head-to-head after eyeing one another throughout the SEC standings race.

"I know Georgia's had a great season, and they put it together, so looking forward to seeing them in Omaha."

Awaiting either Texas or Georgia will be another SEC foe, as this part of the bracket is paired with Oklahoma and No. 7 Alabama. That game will take place at 2 p.m. on Saturday before the Longhorns vs. the Bulldogs.

Jim Schlossnagle: 'Live Up To The Standard'

For third-year coach Schlossnagle, he detailed his personal satisfaction with returning such a storied program back to the pinnacle of the sport in the short time that he's taken over.

"It means a lot to me personally," he said about reaching Omaha. Schlossnagle became just the fourth coach in NCAA history to bring three different programs to Omaha in his career.

The Longhorns are back in the MCWS for the first time in four years.

"I have to walk by that sign every day that says 38 trips to Omaha, and 38 has been sitting there for a while," Schlossnagle said. "So, I'm glad we'll at least be able to change it to 39."

"We all went through a lot to be here," he added. "There's a lot of people at Texas who have gone over and above to make sure that we've had a good experience, have the support to be successful, and my biggest fear in life is to let someone down ... just to live up to the standard here, and I know the standard is the national title.

"We'll certainly do our best to win that."
