Christian Anderson's stellar Texas Tech season propels him into early NBA draft projections, with a number of teams eyeing his scoring and playmaking.

Texas Tech basketball could soon add another name to its growing NBA pipeline, as Christian Anderson is gaining serious traction in early projections for the 2026 NBA Draft.

In a recent mock draft from Bleacher Report's Zach Buckley, Anderson is projected to be selected by the Toronto Raptors with the 20th pick in the first round.

"Anderson isn't your typical Raptor. Their preferred prospects are bigger, longer and more disruptive on the defensive end," Buckley writes. "They're also generally far more limited as scorers and shooters, which is why Toronto might want to break the mold here. This offense needs a jolt of both, and Anderson can scratch those itches while adding some creativity and pick-and-roll navigation, too."

Anderson’s sophomore season at Texas Tech was nothing short of a breakout. The 6-3 guard averaged around 18 points and just over seven assists per game while earning All-American honors and the Big 12’s Most Improved Player award. Those numbers not only helped lead the Red Raiders to a strong season, but also elevated Anderson into the national spotlight as one of the top guards in his class.

What makes Anderson particularly appealing to NBA scouts is his shooting ability and feel for the game. He shot 47 percent from the field and a very impressive 41 percent from three on eight attempts per game.

Anderson helped lead the way for the Red Raiders to a five seed in the NCAA Tournament. And while they ended up falling the Round of 32, it was to a very dangerous Alabama team.

The projected fit with Toronto is also compelling. The Raptors have long valued guards who can handle, create, and space the floor, and Anderson checks each of those boxes. In this scenario, he would join a young core and potentially develop into a key offensive contributor at the next level.

As draft night approaches in June at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, Anderson’s stock will continue to be closely monitored. But if this latest projection holds, Texas Tech fans may soon see another Red Raider hear his name called on one of basketball’s biggest stages.
