Texas Tech baseball returns to Lubbock Tuesday to face Tarleton State, opening a busy five-game week as the Red Raiders try to halt a skid.
Texas Tech baseball is back at Rip Griffin Park on Tuesday night, looking for a reset.
The Red Raiders host Tarleton State at 6:30 p.m. in Lubbock, opening a packed five-game stretch that could help reshape the tone of the week after a frustrating series at Utah.
For Texas Tech, the timing matters. The Red Raiders enter the midweek matchup at 20-19 overall and trying to snap a five-game losing streak before a quick turnaround game at ACU on Wednesday and a home Big 12 series against Oklahoma State this weekend.
Tuesday also brings the team’s second and final Bark in the Park promotion, with dogs admitted free for the night game.
The matchup itself gives Texas Tech a chance to settle in offensively after a recent dip at the plate.
Earlier this season, the Red Raiders built their identity around relentless run production, but that pace has cooled over the last week.
Tech managed only eight total runs during the three-game set at Utah, and the lineup is still searching for a full-team bounce-back.
One constant has been senior Tracer Lopez. The veteran infielder stayed red hot in Salt Lake City, going 7-for-12 over the weekend to push his season average to .355.
Lopez has now hit safely in nine straight games and moved into a tie for ninth on Texas Tech’s all-time hits list with 218. He needs just a few more to keep climbing.
There have also been encouraging signs on the mound. Freshman Logan Addison has become one of the steadiest bullpen arms on the roster, allowing only one run across his last eight appearances while piling up 17 strikeouts in 14.2 innings.
Jonny Lowe also turned heads Sunday with 3.2 perfect innings in relief.

Texas Tech is expected to start right-hander Kaysen Raineri, who is 3-0 with a 7.65 ERA. Tarleton State comes in at 25-14 and is projected to start Brendon Carter.
With a demanding week ahead, Tuesday feels bigger than just a midweek game. It’s a chance for the Red Raiders to get momentum back before the schedule gets even tougher.
