Texas Tech baseball hosts Dallas Baptist to begin its final homestand as the Red Raiders chase a Big 12 Tournament spot.
Texas Tech baseball is back in Lubbock, and the timing couldn’t be much bigger.
The Red Raiders open their final homestand of the 2026 season Tuesday night against Dallas Baptist at Dan Law Field at Rip Griffin Park. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m., with Texas Tech sitting at 23-24 and still fighting for a place in the Big 12 Tournament.
Tech comes home with some badly needed momentum after rallying past Baylor 8-3 on Sunday. The win snapped a five-game overall losing streak and ended a nine-game skid in Big 12 play.
More importantly, it pulled the Red Raiders into a tie with Arizona for the final tournament spot.
The late-game offense was the biggest sign of life. Logan Hughes tied Sunday’s game with a two-run homer in the eighth, then Texas Tech erupted for five runs in the ninth.
Connor Shouse sparked the inning with an RBI single, Caden Ferraro added a two-run double and Matt Quintanar launched a two-run homer.
Shouse was terrific all weekend, going 8-for-11 with four runs, two home runs and seven RBIs.
Tracer Lopez remains one of Tech’s most consistent bats, hitting .364 with 68 hits and 18 doubles.
He’s also climbing the program record book, sitting sixth all-time in hits with 231.
Hughes is building serious MLB Draft buzz, too. He’s hitting .394 in Big 12 play with a .486 on-base percentage and .670 slugging mark. His power profile has pushed him into first-round conversation.
Tuesday’s pitching matchup features Texas Tech right-hander Connor Mohan against Dallas Baptist’s Jared Schaeffer.
After DBU, the Red Raiders host BYU for three games to close the home schedule.
For Tim Tadlock’s team, this week isn’t just about finishing strong at home. It’s about keeping the postseason door open.
