Wes Kittley swept Big 12 Outdoor Coach of the Year honors again after Texas Tech’s men and women dominated the conference meet.
Wes Kittley isn’t just collecting Big 12 honors anymore. He’s turning the league into his personal trophy case.
The Texas Tech track and field coach was named Big 12 Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Coach of the Year for the second straight season, adding another ridiculous chapter to one of the most dominant runs in college track.

Kittley has now won eight straight Big 12 Coach of the Year awards across men’s and women’s indoor and outdoor competition dating back to 2025.
His career total is up to 15.
Texas Tech earned this latest sweep the hard way, rolling through the Big 12 Outdoor Championships in Tucson with both team titles. The Red Raider men scored 127 points and won by 26. The women answered with 119.5 points, finishing 11.5 points clear of the field.
Depth mattered, but stars showed up everywhere.
On the women’s side, Tonie-Ann Forbes won the 100-meter hurdles, Temitope Adeshina took the high jump and Tamiah Washington claimed the triple jump.
The 4x400 relay team of Collinique Farrington, Mekenze Kelley, Vanessa Balde and Lovina Ewusi also grabbed gold, putting a nasty final stamp on the weekend.
The men had their own punch. Malachi Snow won the 110-meter hurdles, while Titus Kimaru delivered a title in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.
Kittley’s bigger résumé is almost absurd at this point. In 27 seasons leading Texas Tech, he has guided the Red Raiders to 20 Big 12 team championships when including cross country titles.
Now the focus shifts from conference dominance to national survival.
Texas Tech heads to Fayetteville, Arkansas, for the NCAA West First Round Championships. The men compete Wednesday and Friday, while the women take the stage Thursday and Saturday.
The Big 12 already knows what Texas Tech can do.
Now Kittley’s crew gets another chance to make the national field feel it.
