Nasir Anderson is one of several Class of 2027 players to show an interest in the Huskies.
First it was NaVorro Bowman Jr. Then, it was Moussa Kamissoko. Now, it's Nasir Anderson, who is just the latest in a line of top Class of 2027 recruits to show an interest in the UConn men's basketball program.
According to Sam Kayser, Anderson is down to 10 schools, most of which are current or traditional powers: Kentucky, North Carolina, UConn, Providence, Syracuse, Indiana, Florida, Virginia, Tennessee and Georgia.
Listed at 6-foot-4, he is ranked No. 9 overall in the SC Next 100 (ESPN) rankings.
Anderson, from Georgia, represented Team USA at the 2025 FIBA U16 AmeriCup, helping Team USA win the gold medal. He was named MVP of that tournament, averaging 12.3 ppg and 6.8 assists. The 6.8 assists led the tournament.
He is a left-handed shooter, the same as current UConn guard Solo Ball.
What is the UConn sales pitch?
Dan Hurley's program is humming along, so he has a good sales pitch to any recruit that he gets in front of.
At the collegiate level, the Huskies have been to the national title game in three of the last four seasons. No other school in the country can say that. They've won two national championships in those three appearances, so if Anderson values the opportunity to get to the NCAA Tournament - and win - then he'll need to take a long look at UConn.

There's very few places that offer that mix of collegiate and pro success. Also, while playing for Hurley is undoubtedly difficult, his coaching prepares players for the professional level in a way that other schools do not

Much like he did last week in the preseason opener, football alum Joe Fagnano showed out on Saturday for the Baltimore Ravens as they beat the Minnesota Vikings.
The Ravens won 13-3, moving to 2-0 this preseason, with Fagnano leading the way offensively. He went 15-of-20 for 123 yards and a touchdown. He did not throw an interception and had a quarterback rating of 105.9.
While Tyler Huntley went 5-of-8, Fagnano appears to be a big part of what the Ravens are going to do over the next few years. Though he went undrafted in this year's NFL Draft, Fagnano signed a three-year deal with Baltimore after the draft.
