Moussa Kamissoko, from Long Island, N.Y. will visit Dan Hurley's program.

We recently learned that the University of Connecticut men's basketball team will get a recruiting visit from NaVorro Bowman Jr. on Sept. 10. Bowman, the son of former San Francisco 49ers star NaVorro Bowman, is one of the top players in the Class of 2027.

Well, Bowman isn't the only top recruit who will be visiting the Huskies in September: It was announced on Friday that Moussa Kamissoko, also a top recruit, will visit UConn on Sept. 25-27.

Here's what you need to know about Kamissoko at this time.

The Moussa Kamissoko file

Listed at 6-foot-8, Kamissoko hails from Long Island, N.Y., playing at Long Island Lutheran, the same school that produced currently Syracuse guard Kiyan Anthony.

According to Rivals, Kamissoko is the No. 17 overall recruit for his class, and he's the No. 6 ranked shooting guard.

Rivals has him as the No. 8 player nationally.

What other schools does he have offers from?

He currently has offers from Cincinnati, Louisville, NC State, Penn State, Syracuse and Rhode Island, with On3 reporting he also has them from Villanova, Providence and Kentucky.

What is his visit schedule?

He will visit Florida State (Aug. 28-30), Syracuse (Sept. 3-4), Virginia (Sept. 5-6), Oklahoma State (Sept. 12-13), BYU (Sept. 15-17), Illinois (Sept. 18-20), UConn (Sept. 25-27), Louisville (Oct. 6-7) and Baylor (Oct. 16-18).

That's certainly an extensive travel schedule for a high schooler, serving as further evidence to how highly coveted he is.

What is the UConn sales pitch?

Of course, Dan Hurley's program has a lot going for it, on multiple fronts.

At the collegiate level, the Huskies have been to the national title game in three of the last four seasons. No other school in the country can say that. If Kamissoko cares about winning, UConn is a spot where that can be done.

Furthermore, at the pro level, the Huskies have repeatedly churned out NBA Draft picks, including Alex Karaban and Tarris Reed Jr. this past draft.

And finally, Storrs is close to his home in Long Island. So, if being near family and friends is important to him, then UConn has a selling point that not many others have.

Also in the news for the Huskies

Earlier this week, Hurley's program announced some restructuring to its staff. It also announced the official dates of a home-and-home series with Ohio State, which is set to begin this season and will continue into 2027.
