The school and television partner CBS Sports announced the start times of home football games this fall. The 2026 season seems closer than ever now.
UConn football fans can start making their plans to attend home games at Pratt & Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field in East Hartford, this fall.
The university, in conjunction with CBS Sports, announced the game times and television plans Wednesday for six of the seven home UConn football games.
CBS Sports Network will televise those home games. This will be the sixth season of the partnership between UConn and the network.
The season home opener will be played at noon on Sept. 5 against Lafayette and will be shown on WFSB Channel 3 across Connecticut. It will be the UConn debut of head coach Jason Candle, who replaced Jim Mora. The former coach departed for Colorado State after leading the Huskies to back-to-back nine-win seasons.
The remaining home schedule
CBS Sports Network will take over the coverage on Sept. 12. Here’s a look at those home games:
Sept. 12, 3:30 p.m., Maryland. This will be UConn’s first game this season against a power-conference team, the Terrapins of the Big Ten.
Oct. 3, noon, Syracuse. The Orange of the Atlantic Coast Conference visit, with UConn looking to avenge a three-point loss in 2025 in a game the Huskies should have won.
Oct. 23, 7 p.m., UMass. The game against the Minutemen moves to Friday night.
Nov. 7, noon, North Carolina. Tar Heels coach Bill Belichick returns to New England, giving the Huskies three power-conference opponents on the home schedule.
Nov. 14, noon, James Madison. The Dukes competed in their first College Football Playoff last season, losing 51-34 in the opening round to Oregon.
Nov. 21, 3:30 p.m., Old Dominion. The Monarchs finished the 2025 season with a 10-3 (6-2 Sun Belt Conference) record.
The road schedule
The Huskies will head south and west on the road in 2026. Two start times were announced Wednesday, with the rest of the times still to come.
Sept. 19, 7 p.m., at Southern Miss. ESPN+ will televise.
Sept. 26, TBA, at Miami (OH).
Oct. 10, TBA, at Temple.
Oct. 31, 2 p.m., at Air Force. Mountain West+ will televise.
Nov. 28, TBA, at Wyoming.
Tickets and tailgating
A season-ticket package for the seven home games is available, and seat holders can enjoy additional perks, such as extended tailgating.

Also on campus
Incoming UConn freshman Colben Landrew is one of 12 players selected to the 2026 USA Basketball Men's U18 National Team.
USA Basketball made the announcement Wednesday.
Landrew and his U.S. teammates were chosen from the 32 players who took part in training camp in Colorado Springs, Colo. The team will remain there for the next few days before traveling to Leon, Mexico, to take part in 2026 FIBA U18 Men's AmeriCup, set for June 1-7.
Landrew, 18, is a 6-foot-6, 235-pound small forward from Wheeler High School in Marietta, Ga. He is ranked by the 247Sports composite as a five-star prospect and ninth in the nation at his position in the Class of 2026.
He is one of eight additions to the UConn roster for the 2026-27 season.
