Incoming UConn freshman Colben Landrew is one of 12 players selected to the 2026 USA Basketball Men's U18 National Team.
USA Basketball made the announcement Wednesday.
Landrew and his U.S. teammates were chosen from the 32 players who took part in training camp in Colorado Springs, Colo. The team will remain there for the next few days before traveling to Leon, Mexico, to take part in 2026 FIBA U18 Men's AmeriCup, set for June 1-7.
About Colben Landrew
Landrew, 18, is a 6-foot-6, 235-pound small forward from Wheeler High School in Marietta, Ga. He is ranked by the 247Sports composite as a five-star prospect and ninth in the nation at his position in the Class of 2026.
He is one of eight additions to the UConn roster for 2026-27 – a team that will be seeking to return to the NCAA championship game after this season’s team lost 69-63 to Michigan last month.
Also new to the Huskies: Class of 2026 guard Junior County from Wasatch Academy in Utah and transfers Najai Hines (Seton Hall), Nikolas Khamenia (Duke), Oskar Giltay (Stanford), Nils Machowski (Wofford), Jaye Nash (Jacksonville State) and Isaiah Shaw (Northern Arizona).

The USA Basketball Men's Junior National Team Committee selected the 12 players who make up the U18 AmeriCup team. It consists of seven players in the Class of 2026, as well as five members of the 2027 class. The schools of the incoming freshmen are listed; none of the 2027 athletes have committed to a college.

Tournament schedule
At the 2026 FIBA U18 Men's AmeriCup, the United States will compete in group play with Argentina, Brazil and Mexico – all of whom the Americans have dominated in past play in this age group.
The U.S. will meet Argentina on June 1 (7:30 p.m. ET), putting its 14-1 record against the team on the line. A game against Mexico (5-0 all-time) follows on June 2 (10 p.m. ET), and pool play will conclude June 4 (5 p.m. ET) against Brazil (11-0).
For the teams advancing out of pool play that don't win their group, quarterfinals are set for June 5. The Under 18 semifinals will be June 6, with medal games to be played June 7.
