Sarah Strong and Maya Moore share very similar stats.

Brady Farkas on the comparisons between Sarah Strong and Maya Moore.

The No. 1-ranked University of Connecticut women's basketball program is currently 16-0 and a perfect 7-0 inside Big East Conference play.

They'll be back on the floor again on Sunday afternoon when they take on Creighton at 2 p.m. ET.

Part of the reason why the Huskies are so dominant this year is because of the excellent play of sophomore forward Sarah Strong. She's averaging 18.4 ppg and 7.8 rebounds, putting herself on track for a probable All-American selection and a possible Player of the Year award.

But if you look closer, as Jake McCreven of the Daily Campus did, Strong's career so far has a striking resemblance to another Connecticut legend through her first 56 games: Maya Moore.

Inside those numbers:

--Through 56 career games, Strong averages 30.1 minutes per game, while Moore averaged 29.4

--Strong is scoring 17 ppg for her career, while Moore averaged 18.4

--Strong averages 8.6 rebounds per game and 3.8 assists, while Moore averaged 8.2 and 3.3

--Strong averages 2.7 steals per game and 1.6 blocks, better than Moore's 1.8 and 1.5.

--Strong averages 58.9 percent from the floor, which is better than Moore's 54 percent.

--Moore was a better three-point shooter at 41.9 percent vs. Strong's 40.3 percent

--Moore went 54-2 through her first 56 games while Strong is 53-3.

About Moore

A member of the Basketball Hall of Fame, Moore's career is littered with accomplishments. She was a two-time NCAA champion, a three-time All-NCAA Tournament team member, a two-time Associated Press Player of the Year and a two-time Wooden Award winner. She was a three-time Big East Player of the Year and a four-time All-Big East selection.

She was the No. 1 pick in the 2011 NBA Draft by the Minnesota Lynx and then proceeded to win four WNBA titles and earn six All-Star appearances. She was a seven-time All-WNBA selection and an MVP winner in 2014. She also won the league's Rookie of the Year award.

AKA, being connected to her in any way is high praise for Strong.
