The Huskies will try and bounce back against the Boilermakers despite several key injuries

The Washington Huskies football team will look to bounce back from a disappointing loss in their upcoming game against the Purdue Boilermakers at 4 p.m. PT on Saturday at Husky Stadium in Seattle.

Washington loss to unranked Wisconsin 13-10 in its previous contest, which ended any hope the Huskies had at making their third-ever College Football Playoff.

Washington has three more games left in the season, including the matchup against Purdue, and it will be looking to end the season on a strong note and stay healthy.

The game against the Boilermakers could be the perfect get-back game for the Huskies. Purdue is winless against Big Ten opponents this year, but Washington coach Jedd Fisch isn't too concerned about records.

"I think that records don't matter at this point and time in the season," Fisch said in a post published by the team's official account on "X" on Friday. "I think it's a matter of if you have a healthy team, do you have a team that wants to go out there and fight for every inch. They do, we do. We're trying to fight for every inch, they're trying to fight for every inch. We're back at home, we need our crowd into it, we need an unbelievable atmosphere and then we got to see what we can do."

The Huskies will be without one of their best players against the Boilermakers. The team's leading receiver, junior Denzel Boston, is out with a lower-body injury he suffered against Wisconsin. Other key contributors, like senior running back Jonah Coleman, were nursing ailments during the week of practice.

Because of this, several young players will get opportunities to contribute against Purdue.

"We told our guys, we're so young in so many spots that we're gonna practice in full pads and we're gonna get after it," Fisch said. "We're gonna see how good we can get and that's what our guys did and they embraced it."

Coming off the upset loss against the Badgers, it'd be easy for the team to feel down. But Fisch is trying to make sure that that cloud doesn't sweep over his club.

"Play with incredible enthusiasm," Fisch said. "We challenged our team to have the most amount of fun they've ever had in a game on Saturday. Play with just great energy, passion and just get after it every play you can."
