J.P. Losman is set to get elevated for head coach Jedd Fisch.

We heard on Tuesday that the University of Washington football program is headed for a likely change in the offensive coaching structure.

It appears that former Buffalo Bills quarterback J.P. Losman is set to partially benefit from the shakeup, per a new report from Adam Rittenberg of ESPN.

Source: Washington is expected to promote offensive quality control coach JP Losman as quarterbacks coach. Losman, a former NFL QB, joined Washington’s staff in 2025 after three years at Oklahoma.

Head coach Jedd Fisch remains UW’s offensive play-caller.

It's not surprising to see Losman move up considering he has several years of playing and coaching experience that can be valuable to Demond Williams Jr. and other QBs on the roster.

About Losman

Now 44 years old, Losman spent seven years in the NFL with the Bills, Oakland Raiders and Miami Dolphins. He was a first-round pick (No. 22) of the Bills in 2004 out of Tulane. He went 10-23 as a starter in his career, starting 16 games for Buffalo in 2006. He threw 33 touchdowns and 34 interceptions. He threw for 6,271 yards.

He stopped playing in 2011 and got into coaching in 2017. He began as a student coaching intern at Clemson.

About the Huskies in 2026

Fisch has brought in a top-flight recruiting class, but there are still questions about the Huskies heading into the new year. How will the offense look in the wake of Jonah Coleman's graduation and Denzel Boston's declaring for the NFL Draft?

Backup running back Adam Mohammed transferred to Cal and there's the whole drama of the Williams situation that still has to play out. How will he be as a player? As a leader? And how will his teammates accept him back into the fold? How about the fanbase?

The Huskies won nine games in 2025, winning the LA Bowl against Boise State. The LA Bowl is now defunct, so the Huskies won the last one ever played.
