Former Huskies guard Isaiah Thomas talked about potentially playing basketball outside of the U.S.

The Washington Huskies men's basketball team has been responsible for producing several notable players this century. Among them have been Jamal Crawford, Nate Robinson, Terrence Ross and Jaden McDaniels.

Another notable player in somewhat recent NBA history that played his college ball with the Huskies was Isaiah Thomas, who recently pondered an interesting possibility in a post on "X."

In a post from Isaiah Thomas' official account (@isaiahthomas), the long-time point guard talked about potentially continuing his professional league outside of the NBA.

"Thinking about slidin to the Euro league.... I just want to HOOP"

Thomas was a three-star recruit in the 2008 recruiting class in high school. He was a Tacoma, Wash., native and attended Curtis Senior High School (University Place, Wash.) before playing with South Kent (South Kent, Conn.) his senior year.

Thomas played with his native Washington for three years from 2008-11. The 5-foot-8 guard was an instant contributor for the Huskies. He started in 34 of a potential 35 games his freshman season and played in 105 total games (starting 104) in his college year.

Thomas averaged 15.5 points per game his freshman season 41.8% shooting from the floor and added 2.6 assists and 1.1 steals per game. He was named second-team All-Pac-10 and the Pac-10 Freshman of the Year.

Thomas finished his collegiate career having averaged 16.4 points per game on 42.6% shooting to go with four assists and 1.2 steals per game. Thomas was named the Pac-10 Tournament MVP for two straight seasons (2010-11), first-team All-Pac-10 those years and was named an All-American honorable mention in '11 by the Associated Press.

Thomas helped lead the Huskies to the Sweet 16 in 2010. Washington has made it back to the NCAA Tournament just twice since and weren't able to advance to the Sweet 16.

Thomas' number was retired by the program in 2018 and he was inducted in the Washington Huskies Athletics Hall of Fame in 2023.

Thomas chose to enter the 2011 NBA Draft after his junior year and was selected with the final pick in the second round (60th overall) by the Sacramento Kings.

MORE HUSKIES STORIES:

Thomas is in the middle of his 15th season in the NBA with his 10th different franchise. Thomas has played for the Kings, Phoenix Suns, Boston Celtics, Cleveland Cavaliers, Los Angeles Lakers, Denver Nuggets, Washington Wizards, New Orleans Pelicans, Dallas Mavericks and Charlotte Hornets.

Thomas' time with the Celtics was his most successful tenure as a professional. He was named an All-Star twice with Boston ('16-17) and was named second-team All-NBA in '17.

Thomas' best season was with the Celtics in 2016-17. He averaged 28.9 points per game in 76 contests on 46.3% shooting, including a 37.9% mark from 3-point range, to go with 5.9 assists per game.

Since then, Thomas has been plagued by injuries and has bounced around the association. He's yet to play more than 40 games in the NBA in a single year since his last with Boston and has been up-and-down G-League and NBA rosters the last several seasons, which has likely led to his frustration.

It would be interesting to see Thomas play in the Euro league and see if he's able to succeed internationally.
