Washington Huskies men's target Jaylin Stewart and women's basketball target Aaliyah Moore have both found teams their homes away from the Pacific Northwest.
The Washington Huskies men's and women's basketball teams have both been active in the transfer portal. Both teams have bolstered their respective rosters with several additions this offseason.
The men's team has added senior forward LeJuan Watts (Texas Tecch) and Steele Venters (Gonzaga) and senior guards Ryan Beasley (San Francisco) and Parker Friedrichsen (Davidson).
The women's squad has added junior forward Tilda Trygger (North Carolina State), junior guard Brooke Carlson (Colorado State) and senior guard Macey Huard (Oklahoma State).
Despite the women's basketball closing on April 20 and the men's portal closing on April 21, players who have already entered the portal are still able to commit to new teams.
Due to that fact, both teams have remained interested in players currently in the portal. Unfortunately for both squads, potential acquisitions have chosen to sign elsewhere. Here's an overview of recent moves for potential UW targets:
Jaylin Stewart, F, MBB
The 6-foot-7, 225-pound senior forward, who entered the portal from UConn, has been tied to the Huskies due to his ties to the Emerald City.
Stewart is a Seattle native and graduate of Garfield High School.
There was reported interest in Stewart for the Huskies, but the fourth-year frontcourt player opted instead to take his talents to Southern Methodist (SMU) per a post on "X" from On3 Sports reporter Joe Tipton.
Stewart played in 104 games and started 24 in his three seasons at UConn.
Last season, Stewart averaged 4.2 points on 43% shooting across 32 games (12 starts) for the east coast Huskies. He also averaged 2.6 rebounds and 1.1 assists.
The addition of Watts (6-foot-6, 225 pounds) may have decreased Washington's pursuit of Stewart. But regardless, Stewart will be suiting up for the Mustangs in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC).
Aaliyah Moore, F, WBB
The lady Huskies had Moore, a 6-foot-1 forward who had spent the last five seasons with the Texas Longhorns, on campus this past week for a visit.
Instead of joining Washington, Moore swapped one stories SEC women's basketball program for another.
Per a post on "X" from On3 reporter Talia Goodman on Saturday, Moore opted to commit to the Tennessee Volunteers.
Moore last played in the 2024-25 season, where she averaged 7.9 points on 47.3% shooting across 19 games (all starts) in addition to 4.6 rebounds and 1.1 steals.
Moore missed all of last season due to double-knee surgery to repair injuries that ended her season prematurely in '24-25.
Moore played in 89 games and started 56 during her five years with the Longhorns.
