John Mills, Dezmen Roebuck and Rylon Dillard-Allen were all recognized by various publications

The Washington Huskies football team saw a significant improvement this past season in the program's second year under head coach Jedd Fisch.

The Huskies finished the year 9-4 after beating the Boise State Broncos 38-10 in the Los Angeles Bowl on Dec. 13. That's three wins improved from the 6-7 record Washington posted in 2024.

A lot of Washington's success this past season is due to the continued development of the program's young players.

Due to various injuries and open roster spots going into this season, the Huskies saw several true freshmen play several games over the course of the year. And multiple players were recognized by various publications' respective All-Freshman teams.

Offensive lineman John Mills and wide receiver Dezmen Roebuck were named to The Athletic's All-Frehsman team.

Mills and safety Rylon Dillard-Allen were named to Pro Football Focus' All-Freshman list and Mills was on 247Sports' All-Freshman team.

Roebuck, who was a three-star recruit in the class of 2025, was one of Washington's best scoring threats in 2025.

Roebuck reeled in 42 passes for 560 yards (13.3 yards per catch) and seven touchdowns. He scored a touchdown for the Huskies in their bowl win against the Broncos.

Dillard-Allen, ranked the 12th-best safety in the nation in the class of '25 according to 247Sports, registered 40 total tackles (34 solo). He appeared in all 13 games and started three for the Huskies and registered at least one tackle in every game.

Mills was ranked as a three-star prospect in '25 according to 247Sports but quickly became one of the program's most steady and versatile offensive linemen.

Mills played 11 games this past season for Washington. Every game he appeared in he started. He lineup up at left guard in nine games and right tackle in two. He was also named All-Big Ten Honorable Mention. Mills also was named to On3 Sports' True Freshman All-American team.

Fisch has gained a reputation as a program rebuilder and, based on the early returns from his underclassmen and his '26 recruiting class (ranked 12th in the country), that trend will likely continue.

A true freshman running back from this past season, Jordan Washington, will likely step into a starting role in 2026 due to the graduation of senior running back Jonah Coleman and sophomore running back Adam Mohammed entering the transfer portal.

Roebuck will likely get more reps in '26 with Denzel Boston potentially entering the NFL Draft and fellow freshman Raiden Vines-Bright also entering the transfer portal.
